December 2022 Newsletter

Busy, busy, busy! November at St. Matthias was exciting! After an absence of over 25 years, we had an entry in Devine Cactus Festival parade. Allison, John, Esme, Kaylynn, Olive, Meg, Amber, Rob, Erika Ryska and Luna either drove, waved, or tossed goodies to the spectators. We had lots of positive comments showcasing how St. Matthias is a thriving and exciting church in the service of Jesus Christ! I served as Chaplain for the 3-day Veterans Day weekend Wounded Warrior and Veteran Family Camp at Mustang Island. Harry, JoAnn, Karen, and Joe were also in attendance. We had a wonderful POSM event making family Advent wreaths. We did experience our Sanctuary heating system go down and held one service in the Parish Hall.

Season of Advent

We’re looking forward to having a joyous Advent season. We’re having our Consecration Sunday, December 4th when folks turn in their pledge cards. We’ll have a delicious meal after the service. If you need a pledge card, please let us know. We’ll be having our Lessons & Carols Christmas Eve service December 24th, 7pm and our Holy Eucharist Christmas service on Sunday 10:30 am. Kids are invited to be bring a toy to be blessed during the service. For planning purposes, our Annual Meeting will be January 8th.
