May 2026 Newsletter

As we step into the month of May, we find ourselves surrounded by reminders of love, renewal, and the quiet strength of faithful presence. On Mother’s Day, we give thanks for the women in our lives who have nurtured, guided, and loved us: mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, mentors, and all who have offered care in ways both large  and small. This is also a tender day for many, as we remember those we miss or reflect on complicated relationships. Wherever this day finds you, may it be held in God’s gentle grace, a reminder that we are all gathered into the embrace of a love that never lets us go.

Later in the month, St. Matthias will celebrate the vibrant and joyful feast of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit swept into the lives of the disciples like a rushing wind and tongues of fire. It’s the birthday of the Church, but more than that, it’s a reminder that God is still moving, still stirring, still surprising us. The same Spirit that empowered those first followers continues to breathe life into our community today, calling us to speak love in ways others can hear and understand. As we journey through May together, may we be open to that Spirit’s nudge, ready to be renewed, inspired, and sent out in Christ’s name.
