July 2026 Newsletter
As we turn the calendar to July, our nation pauses to celebrate Independence Day and, over the coming year, the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States. It's an opportunity to give thanks for the blessings of liberty, to remember the sacrifices of those who came before us, and to pray for our country. As Christians, we know that love of country and love of God aren’t competing loyalties. We’re called to be grateful citizens who seek the common good while remembering that our ultimate hope doesn’t rest in governments or institutions, but in the unchanging grace of God.
Here at St. Matthias, we also have much to celebrate. Every week we witness God's faithfulness in the kindness of volunteers, the generosity of our church family, the laughter shared over coffee, and the quiet moments of prayer around the Lord's Table. As you read through this month's newsletter, you'll see many examples of people using their gifts to serve both our church and our community. Thank you for being part of what God is doing here. May this July be a month of gratitude, hope, and renewed commitment, not only to our country, but even more importantly, to the Kingdom of God, where love is our highest calling and Christ is our true source of freedom.
