June 2025 Newsletter
Pentecost is more than a celebration of the Church’s birthday. It’s a powerful reminder that the Holy Spirit continues to move among us, just as it did with the apostles in that upper room. At St. Matthias, we may not see tongues of fire or hear rushing winds, but the Spirit still breathes life into our worship, our ministries, and our vision for the future. As we prepare to reopen our newly renovated Parish Hall, Pentecost invites us to listen for God’s voice in fresh ways and to open ourselves to being transformed for the work God is calling us to do, both within our church family and in the wider community we serve.
In this season of renewal, Pentecost speaks to us with timely encouragement. The same Spirit that empowered ordinary people to proclaim the Gospel in many languages empowers us at St. Matthias to be Christ’s witnesses right here, right now. Our renovated space is more than wood and drywall, it’s a vessel for hospitality, healing, and hope. As we dream of the community events and ministries that will fill it, we trust that the Holy Spirit is already preparing hearts to be welcomed, fed, and inspired. Pentecost isn’t just a moment in history. It's a living promise that God is with us, equipping us to share the Good News with a world hungry for grace.
